Requirements

1. You must be 18+ years of age
2. You must be a permanent resident of Canada
3. You must have lived in Canada for at least three years in the past four years
4. Proof of acceptable language proficiency
5. Take the Canadian citizenship test to show your knowledge of Canada

If you are in prison or on parole or on probation or have been convicted, charged with an offence, or if you are under a removal order, or under investigation, you cannot become a citizen.
