Language test
The Process
To apply for Express Entry and to meet the eligibility criteria for one of the skilled worker programs, your language proficiency test score will be part of that requirement.
When creating your Express Entry profile you must complete the information related to your language test you took for your first, and if applicable, a second official language.
The test must be a 3rd party language test from an approved agency by IRCC.
IRCC accept the following Language Test agencies:
For English
- CELPIP: Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program - General
- IELTS: International English Language Testing System – General Training
For French
- TEF Canada: Test d’évaluation de français
- TCF Canada : Test de connaissance du français
A test will show if your language skills meet a minimum standard in each of these four language skills:
- listening
- speaking
- reading
- writing

- Book your test online
- Valid ID photo – drivers license or passport
- Pay for your test
